  • Abstract
This paper presents a numerical investigation for dynamic characteristic analysis of electromagnetic actuators for gas circuit breakers. It analyzed the driving part of the distance between the permanent magnet and the core thickness. It was changed various parameters to find the optimal shape. The magnetic flux density compare with air gap in the moving part. Operation speed is faster in the shape of the high magnetic flux density. The dynamic characteristics of electromagnetic actuators are calculated using the finite element method based on a coupled electrical-mechanical field. The proposed numerical technique is expected to be useful in the design stage of actuators for circuit breakers.
