Abstract :
This paper studies test and evaluation methods of electromagnetic pulse effects on several sensitive objects and analyzes characteristic parameters of damage effects. The optical fiber transmission measure and monitoring systems are established. The coupling and effects of the computer networks, wireless equipments and electric power lines are discussed in detail. The experimental results show that the damage of whole irradiation is greater than that of local irradiation of equipments and the electromagnetic pulse effects of fast rising edge on computer network are more obvious than that of low rising edge because the latter coupling is weaker. It is also known that electromagnetic pulse coupling is inefficient with very high frequency antennas because their main bands are different. However, the coupling is very efficient with high voltage electric power lines which may result in destruction of terminal equipments with lower voltage levels.
