Abstract :
In Free-Space Optics (FSO) systems, the alignment between the transmitter and receiver is very important to determine the link performance. However, many factors, such as sway of buildings, wind loads or thermal expansion, can cause misalignment, leading to pointing errors and signal fading at the receiver. In this work, a modeling for the FSO link with radial displacement is proposed. In this work, it is also analyzed the power transmission when a Gaussian beam profile is modeled, instead of the generally used conic beam with uniform intensity. The work focuses in short-range links since the link sensitivity to radial displacement is higher for small distances.
