Abstract :
Industrialization and urbanization are seen as a complementary phenomenon and as an interdependent process of modern economic development This paper analyzes the evolution of industrial and urbanization in China with a international comparisons, and studies the relationship of China´s urbanization and de-agriculturalization. We find that the process of urbanization is slower than the process of industrialization. The deviation of the level of urbanization and industrialization is gradually reduced. The intra-regional differences are significant. The distribution of the deviation degree of urbanization and industrialization is higher in the West and lower in the East, which is ladder-like distribution. According to the deviation of urbanization and industrialization, there are five types among 31 provinces. Empirical analysis shows there is stable relationship between the industrion and urbanization, but there is no Granger causal relationship significantly.
