Abstract
H.265/HEVC adopts lots of newest video coding techniques to achieve significant increment of coding efficiency compare with H.264/AVC. One of the new techniques is flexible coding unit partition, which also brings huge of computational complexity. In this paper, we propose a fast coding unit (CU) coding mode decision algorithm for HEVC. Experimental results show that the proposed algorithm can reduce the encoding time by 34.41% and 39.45% on average in LB and RA configuration.
