  • Abstract
    A new ultra-wideband (UWB) octagon monopole with three notched bands is proposed. Two pairs of folded dipoles and a rectangular split-ring are introduced to form the three notched bands. The presented antenna not only supports UWB application but also rejects the frequency bands in 3.8-4.4GHz, 5.4-6.4GHz and 7.8-8.8GHz to avoid potential interference with existing communication systems.
