Abstract :
In this article, a novel design of coplanar wave-guide (CPW) fed printed antenna suitable for ultra-wideband applications is reported. The proposed antenna geometry is derived from rectangular resonator in a closed slot. Two circular portions were removed from lower corners of resonating stub to enhance the bandwidth. The antenna is designed with 1.6mm thick FR4 substrate with relative dielectric constant of 4.4 and loss tangent of 0.02. The overall dimensions of the antenna are 25 X 30 X 1.6mm3 and fed by a 50Ω line. Antenna parameters like impedance matching, radiation patterns, gain and group delay are experimentally investigated and reported.
