Abstract
This paper presents a fundamental alternating-direction-implicit finite-difference time-domain (ADI-FDTD) method with implicit update for magnetic fields in the second procedure. This method is as efficient as a recent first-order accurate leapfrog 3-D locally one-dimensional finite-difference time-domain (LOD-FDTD) method, but the proposed fundamental ADI-FDTD method achieves a higher second-order accuracy. The update equations derived from fundamental ADI-FDTD method are given in detail. Numerical result is demonstrated to justify the accuracy of this proposed method.
