Abstract :
Spoof planar plasmonic waveguides (SPPWs) are a new kind of low-loss electromagnetic transmission line, whose modes are tightly confined near the SPPWs. Spoof surface plasmon polaritons (SPPs) propagating in the SPPW can be efficiently converted into free-space radiation by high-efficiency antennas. In this paper, a stacked patch array is given to design a wideband antenna array and illustrate the feeding mechanism by the SPPW. It is designed and fabricated in K-band, and the experimental results validate the simulations of the proposed array. The proposed design provides an avenue to develop the bandwidth of antenna array excited by the SPPW.
