Abstract
This paper proposed a microstrip-fed circular slot loaded antenna design. To excite CP radiation, the technique of loading a cross-shaped patch into the slot is applied, and good impedance matching is also achieved by dividing the cross-shaped patch into two equal sections with a gap in between them. The experiment results shown that the proposed antenna has 10-dB return loss bandwidth of 36.4% (2116-3124 MHz), and its corresponding 3-dB axial ratio (AR) bandwidth was 12.3% (2345-2655 MHz). Furthermore, the proposed antenna has also yielded peak gains of more than approximately 3.3 dBic across the desired band.
