            Abstract : 
A low-profile wideband bowtie antenna is proposed, employing high impedance surface (HIS) as ground reflector. Due to the HIS, it features a low-profile and compact design, with overall ground size of 0.57λL×0.85λL and total thickness of 0.067λL, where λL refers to the lowest operating frequency. The 10 dB return-loss bandwidth is 51.9%, peak gain is about 6.03 dBi, and has directive radiation.
