Abstract :
Nowadays, with the quick rise in the use of WLAN empowered devices and the more far reaching utilization of WLAN, it is progressively essential to have a more proficient introductory connection setup system. There is an interest for a quicker get to authentication system faster than IEEE 802.11i as 802.11i uses 13 messages for authentication process while FLAP use only two messages for the same. So it can fulfil the requirements of the users at crowded areas and can overcome the load and delay time occurred due to the authentication process on Access Points. Another benefit of using FLAP is, its backward compatibility with the 802.11i standard. In WSN main focus is to make the network energy efficient, increase the packet delivery ratio and throughput. In this paper, we are proposing that use of FLAP protocol in WSN can improve its performance. Comparison of FLAP and AODV protocols is shown through NS3 simulation by using parameters Throughput, Packet Delivery Ratio and Delay Time. Further the effect of the transmission power of Access Point on the performance of both the protocols is also shown.
