Abstract :
This paper describes the design of a dual band complex PTMTA (Planar Triangular Monopole Textile Antenna) for Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) applications. Antenna is simulated using felt as substrate and Shieldit TM of electro-textile materials for patch radiating element and ground. The novel antenna covers at 2 GHz and at 4.53 GHz bands. The performance of the textile antenna in free space and over layered human body conditions in has been studied. To ensure performance antenna under a body environment, a body model having three layers (skin, fat, muscle) is investigated at 2 GHz and 4.53 GHz. The reflection coefficient S11 and radiation pattern are presented, results show that the gain at 2 GHz remains stable and highly increase at second frequency.
