Abstract :
This paper proposes a dual band notched antenna which works for ultra-wide band applications. The antenna consists a square radiating patch with a wide S-slot and a modified U shaped slot and this antenna provide wide usable fractional bandwidth of more than 123% (2.91-12.17 GHz). Single band notched function is achieved by cutting S shaped slot and dual band notched function is achieved by cutting modified U slot and by boat shaped structure extra resonance is excited and much wider bandwidth is achieved. The measured results show that antenna covers WLAN (5.15-5.85 GHz) and WiMax (3.3-3.6 GHz) with dual band notched function.
