  • Abstract
    In this paper a new design of band notch UWB antenna which is Coplanar Waveguide (CPW) fed printed octagonal aperture antenna with back patch is presented. A rejected frequency band of 5-6 GHz is obtained by etching H shaped slot from back patch of conventional UWB antenna [1]. The proposed antenna is successfully simulated, fabricated and measured. Both impedance and radiation characteristics obtained from simulations and measurements are in good agreement and provide the operating band from 2.8 to 10.7 GHz with S11 less than or equal to -10dB except at frequency band of WLAN in which gain is suppressed very well.
