  • Abstract
Electroglottograph (EGG) is a non-invasive way to measure the vibration of vocal folds in terms of electrical impedance. In present work, age group classification of male subjects has been performed by analyzing the EGG and its corresponding first order differential Electroglottograph (DEGG) signal. Glottal Closure Instant (GCI) and Glottal Opening Instant (GOI) are derived from DEGG signal. Perturbation in contact quotient (CQ) and variation of fundamental frequency (F0) are computed from the DEGG signal to classify the age group of male subjects varying from 20 to 60 years. For this study, EGG signal from 42 healthy male people of age between 20-60 years were collected. The EGG signal of sustained vowel /a/ at comfortable voice loudness was collected from those 42 subjects.
