Abstract :
All living organisms have to adapt itself in varying climatic and geographical conditions which compels the species to survive in diverse temperatures, salt concentration, pH and pressure conditions. It is well known that proteins are the basic functional block in any living being. So, when a species is placed into divergent environmental conditions, suitable changes have to take place in its genomic and proteomic configuration for its survival. This change helps it to survive in the changed environmental condition. In the present investigation, the genomic and proteomic configurations of different thermophilic, mesophilic and psychrophilic species have been investigated into in the form of change in codon biasing. It has also been shown that this codon biasing effect can also be used for classification or characterization of an unknown species.
