Abstract :
The aim of this paper is to present a method for distinguishing the parathyroid tumor from the surrounding tissue based on fractal dimension of time-activity curves obtained in the dynamic phase of conventional double-tracer protocol (dynamic sestamibi parathyroid scintigraphy). The application of this method is illustrated through three examples of histopathologically proven parathyroid tumors and the results are compared with results of subtraction and Submarine interpretation.
