PVR trick-mode emulation through consecutive jumps

This paper presents a possible way of emulating PVR trick-modes on a DTV set top box through consecutive jumps. The solution is interesting for set top boxes without hardware decoder trick-mode support. Essential part of trick-mode emulation through consecutive jumps is I-frame analysis that takes place during PVR recording phase. Another important aspect of solution is its adaptive format, where additional analyses are carried out in order to establish time realistic navigation through file, regardless of system workload.
