Abstract :
This paper presents a watermarking scheme based on DCT using HVS characteristic. The proposed watermarking scheme hides watermark into an image, and takes HVS characteristic into consideration during the watermark embedding process. The image is first divided into blocks. Blocks containing significant DC coefficients, which represent the bright area of the image, are selected for insertion of binary-image watermark. The watermark is inserted by modifying coefficients in the mid frequency domain into positive or negative value according to the watermark bits. Experiment results show that the proposed algorithm is imperceptible and robust against various image processing attacks such as scaling, cropping, noise attacks, filter attacks, and compression.
