Abstract :
On the basis of the research of the assessment of public security by the remote sensing and geographical information system (GIS), this paper structures the integrated assessment index system of the public security based on the capacity and vulnerability. Taking Xiamen city, China, as an example, the paper analyzes the urban public security assessment process and the results. The urban public security assessment indexes were extracted from statistical yearbook data, remote sensing image, electronic newspapers, online electronic maps, etc. By referencing existing research on index weights assignment method, different index weights were scored, and each index of vulnerability and capacity was graded. According to the comprehensive evaluation model, we could gain the vulnerability and the comprehensive capacity structure diagram. Finally, it generated 100 m as the case between the patterns of urban public security index figure. The traditional method could only assess in time-scale. This paper assesses on the inner urban space, besides the pattern map of public security index showing the various areas of the public security index.
