Abstract :
3D virtual Earth is one of the directions of network GIS. Most scholars always pay more attention to the management of mass geo-information, efficient transmission, and real-time visualization. So as to improve the efficiency of visualization with large-scale tile data, this paper put forward a method of disk cache based on the technology of HTML5 under the three-dimensional earth network implemented by WebGL. This method applies the FileSystem API and the Web Worker API to set up a disk cache to save the tile temporarily. It can effectively reduce the frequency of access to servers. Based on this, by making comparative experiment with the absence of buffer, this paper shows that the proposed disk cache mechanism can improve the efficiency of visualization effectively with large-scale tile data.
