  • Abstract
    The 12 W class-A amplifier and the 500 W class-C pulsed amplifier for a transmitter with AM modulation are described. The designed linear amplifier, with GaAs MESFETs, exhibits a nonlinear distortion coefficient better than 20% for 60% AM modulation. The multistage class-C amplifier, based on bipolar transistors for IFF systems, assures 12% bandwidth and short pulse rise time T/sub r//spl les/100 ns.
