Abstract :
This paper proposes an interactive module of human control model using SIMULINK in MATLAB, taking into account the various aspects of the individual driving characteristics. Although, extensive studies have shown the relationships of age, amount of alcohol intake, and sleep deprivation level with driving performance, little attention has been paid to the development of interactive human driver models that can be linked to vehicle simulators After modeling the longitudinal and lateral control behaviors of normal drivers, these contributory factors are integrated into a baseline driver model in this paper. Correspondingly, an interactive driver module (IDM) was developed including features which enable to tune the individual driving characteristics such as age, amount of alcohol intake, and sleep deprivation level. The IDM prototype was implemented with PreScan to show potential human -- vehicle interaction simulation capabilities.
