Abstract :
EPON (Ethernet Passive Optical Network) is a technology for the next generation. The present research work has evaluated the performance of the EPON link in terms of Q- Factor and BER at wavelength of 1550 nm at transmission link distance of 30 km. The comparison has also been drawn among the proposed EPON link using OSSB and ODSB. The result shows that the ODSB performs better than OSSB as in the OSSB System the fading is more severe due to fiber dispersions.
