Abstract
The increasing scope, demand, scalable virtual environment and advancement in cloud computing infrastructure has led to the association of real time tasks in cloud computing. In Real Time systems, the execution of the tasks is performed on remote virtual machines, the loose control over these virtual computing nodes results in increased probability of errors and therefore poses challenges like reliability, timeliness, QoS requirements and Fault Tolerance. This paper evaluates the execution of real time tasks in cloud computing environment by analysing Fault Tolerance models running real time applications and their associated drawbacks. Also the challenges of implementing real time tasks in cloud environment have been reviewed.
