Abstract :
In the modern computing industry, cloud computing has drawn huge attention from researchers in government and enterprises. Until now, reliability in cloud computing has received limited consideration hence Fault tolerance in cloud computing is the foremost challenging issue. In cloud computing environment, the clients subcontract their data to the cloud that performs the desired computing operations and storing. For having minimum impact of failure on the system´s working and execution of applications, failures should be handled. This paper presents in brief the need and metrices for performing fault tolerance in cloud computing. Further, it gives an outline of the prevalent architectures and the existing techniques for fault tolerance in cloud computing have been analysed and compared.
