Abstract :
The pulse shaping filter is a valuable mean to avoid interferences and shape the signal spectrum. In this paper the design of pulse shaping filters have been compared in terms of their performances and implementation costs. Filters have been designed and estimated by sine filter, raised cosine filter and Gaussian filter. All three designs are simulated using MATLAB. The implementation cost of filter circuit is counted by number of multipliers, adders, multiplications and additions used by each input sample that decides the hardware requirement and performances.
