  • Abstract
In a network, the process of selecting the best path is called routing. Routing is necessary to establish a communication between mobile nodes. In an ad-hoc network, routing becomes more challenging due to the assumption of the traditional routing protocols about friendliness between nodes in the network. Various network layer attacks can be launched which affect routing of ad hoc networks. Along with security, energy efficiency during routing is an important aspect. Recently trust based energy efficient routing has gained lots of focus from researchers around the world. In this paper, we present detailed survey of various schemes which address energy efficient secure routing in various types of wireless ad-hoc networks. The literature survey depict that the existing schemes can be further modified to devise more reliable solutions for better network performance.
