Android based Drive Test platform for cellular system

In telecommunication systems, even though mobile radio systems deliver more and more data about the network performance, there is always a need to measure the network performance in the field. These measurements can be part of establishing new sites in to ensure coverage, capacity and quality requirements, or to verify the performance after upgrading or changing parameters of the network. These measurements are performed by using either Drive Test (DT) or Radio Frequency survey. In this paper, drive test application has been developed using Android system and web page to collect data about the network performance and plot it on a Google map. Experimental results show the design of application and the network performance of two service providers.
