Abstract :
Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is a group of sensors communicating with each other by wireless connection. It is used to gather information from critical areas. In WSNs, the sensor nodes are disposable. So, One of the major issues during designing WSNs is energy consumption. To prolong the lifetime of the network, the power consumption must be reduced. To do this job, some routing protocols have been designed. In this paper, a performance evaluation of three hierarchical routing protocols of wireless sensor networks is carried out using OPNET modeler.
