Abstract
The global industry and generation technologies of renewable power have been developing rapidly in the recent years, the growth of this brings negative impacts on secure and stable operation to power grid, thus, energy storage system is required in power grids. In this paper, a new type of battery, single flow Zinc-Nickle battery, is introduced. Since the battery do not need ion-exchange membranes, the cost of the battery, compared with vanadium redox battery, reduce greatly. In order to describe the current-voltage characteristics of the battery for an electrical system, a dynamic model with varying parameters which are described by functions of the state of charge (SOC) and current based on an equivalent circuit model is proposed. And the validity of the model confirmed through experiments.
