Abstract
The diode clamp three-level matrix converter is derived from indirect matrix converter (IMC). According to the instantaneous power theory, unbalanced input voltage would lead to input current distortion without proper control method. In order to solve this problem, the proposed method can narrowly achieve the goal that the input and output currents are sinusoidal waves by adjusting the modulation matrix of the rectification stage and inverter stage. The key is that the modified modulation matrix is obtained on the basis of analyzing the substance of the unbalance. The simulation results verify the correctness and feasibility of the methods.
