Abstract
For limitation in switch selection and the torque ripples in the traditional direct torque control, an improved direct torque control method is proposed in this paper. This control strategy combines the direct torque control strategy and model predictive control strategy. First of all, pre-select the switching states from the direct torque control strategy and then select the switching state of the matrix converter that minimizes the cost function from pre-selected switching states. The simulation results show that the proposed method can effectively improve the static and dynamic performance of the system as well as maintain the unity power factor.
