    In the fifth installment of "Blue Skies" the authors discuss the capabilities and limitations of big data technologies as regards to collecting and analyzing distributed big data sets across multiple datacenters. The need to process distributed big data sets across multiple datacenters arises from the new breed of Internet of Things (IoT) applications.
