Abstract :
In this paper, an equivalent variable permeance-networks (EVPN) method for analyzing the out-rotor double-salient permanent-magnet in-wheel (OR-DSPMIW) motor is proposed due to the inaccuracy of conventional magnet circuit method and the time-consuming feature of finite-element analysis (FEA). Firstly, the EVPN method is established, which includes the permeance-networks configuration, the permeance of each part of the motor and the iteration of nonlinear materials. Then, based on the analysis of EVPN method, the permanent magnetic flux linkage, back-electromotive force (back-EMF), radial air-gap flux density and torque can be obtained. Finally, the analysis results have been verified by FEA.
