Abstract :
Multiple-motor drive system is usually adopted in electric vehicles, high speed rail and some industry applications, such as textile, steel and paper making. In order to save cost and simplify structure, a dual permanent magnet synchronous motors (D-PMSMs) drive system fed by a five-leg inverter is investigated in this paper. Based on the space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) method, unity power factor control is adopted to achieve the high performance of D-PMSM system. The mathematical model of the drive system is built, based on which the simulation model is established using Matlab/Simulink. The simulation results verify the validity and the feasibility of the proposed control strategy.
