Abstract
This paper proposes a method to drive a three phase induction motor with a two phase inverter using field oriented control (FOC). FOC is suitable because it can produce full torque at zero speed and is capable of quick response. This strategy is also applicable during inverter failure. In this paper, design strategy and some results of an FOC controlled two phase inverter will be presented.
