Abstract :
In this paper, the estimation method for operation region of Interior Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (IPMSM) is investigated and its improvement method considering dominant harmonics is proposed. The operation region estimated by conventional method does not consider the abrupt back-EMF increase due to harmonics. It causes poor performance than estimation or requirement for marginal voltage on control strategy. By considering dominant harmonics, both operation region and marginal voltage can be estimated more accurately.
