Abstract :
The PM parts and electrical excitation part synchronously contribute to the output torque for the parallel hybrid excitation machine (PHEM), which consists of the permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) and the doubly salient electro-magnet machine (DSEM). In this paper, the torque-angle characteristic of the presented machine is analyzed by finite element analysis (FEA). The field current has an important effect on the output torque coupling of the two sections. The maximum torque with different field currents are found out and the simulation results provide important basis for the control of the PHEM.
