  • Abstract
    The paper proposes a novel dual-redundancy permanent magnet synchronous motor(DRPMSM) with low thermal coupling and non-electromagnetic coupling between windings of different phases which is sufficient in a range of safety-critical applications. Considering the serious consequences, three-phase short circuit is analyzed in detail and characteristics of short-circuit current and corresponding braking torque are provided. Moreover, effects of motor parameters on the d-axis short-circuit current and barking torque are obtained and used in the design of the prototype.
