Abstract :
This paper proposes the topology of single-phase Z-source three-level inverter, which combines the advantages of Z-source inverter and multilevel inverter. The modified modulation technique based on alternative phase opposition disposition (APOD) method is suggested to effectively adjust the shoot-through state for boosting and to balance two series capacitor voltages of the three-level inverter. The performances of both the proposed topology and modulation technique are verified with simulation and experimental results.
