Abstract
In order to operate an inductive charging system for electronic vehicles efficiently, alongside an optimized design of the electric system components, special attention has to be paid to the requirement of precise positioning of the vehicle. Lateral, longitudinal as well as orientational deviation has to be avoided. Within the scope of the project UNPLUGGED, co-funded by the 7th Framework Programme of the EC, this fundamental topic is investigated. A system which allows fast and accurate positioning of vehicles, consisting of position detection, trajectory planning and driver instruction, is under development and described in this paper.
