Abstract
The emerging of new technologies have directly impacted the healthcare area. For instance, electronic games - that came up with the aim of promoting entertainment to players - has been successfully used in health assistance. Initially, commercial games were used, requiring full attention of the healthcare professionals. To decrease the attention demanded for these professionals, games with monitoring capabilities were developed. The problem with this approach is that the games are usually developed only for case study concepts, which imply in low quality games (in terms of design). To contour this problem, and ensure the effectiveness of the use of (commercial) games in divided attention environments, it is necessary that the games provide a monitoring system of users, according to parameters set by the healthcare professional. In this work, we propose a framework to support the development of applications to monitoring people while they are playing electronic games as a game therapy.
