Abstract :
An effective nonlinear hyperbolic diffusion-based image restoration technique is proposed in this paper. The developed PDE denoising model is based on a nonlinear fourth-order hyperbolic equation. A consistent numerical discretization scheme is also constructed for this continuous model. The proposed PDE-based approach provides a satisfactory image smoothing while preserving the details very well and overcoming the unintended effects.
