Abstract :
Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography is one of the most difficult and complications-prone procedures in the field of digestive endoscopy. Numerous studies assessed possible quality indicators that could lead towards a better procedural outcome and that in the same time would trigger red flags regarding possible complications´ incidence. As telemedicine techniques are nowadays more and more popular among medical professionals, our paper aims at reviewing the literature about the possible use of these techniques as quality indicators for ERCP. Telemedicine may help in assuring procedural safety and therefore may narrow the incidence of risks and complications post-ERCP.
