Abstract :
This article outlines common efforts made by European universities, medical clinics and language centres in order to help students acquire and practice palliative medical skills, as they have been materialised by the Palliative Care MOOC project (2014-1-RO01-KA203-002940). The aim of the article is to present the findings of the project research carried out in Romania in the field of palliative care. The article also presents the fundamental medical manoeuvres, the operating procedures, which have been selected by the partnership and which are meant to improve the care of patients with progressive and chronic diseases. These protocols are to be developed and standardised at European level in order to support the learning/teaching processes of the medical lecturers, medical students, and of anyone who is accidentally involved in such cases. Based on the standardized fundamental medical manoeuvres the project creates open digital educational resources in the field of palliative medicine clinical language and communication skills.
