On the thermography mapping of anatomic media with capillaries and larger vessels blood flow

This paper presents a mathematical model and numerical simulation results for a heat transfer problem in an anatomic region that contains a tumor. The temperature measured on the surface of the domain could be influenced by the heat source (tumor) and also by the local vascularization of the tissue. This procedure is also know as passive thermometry (PT) and can be used as a diagnostic aid in evaluating the existence and position of a tumor inside the tissue.
