Abstract :
The existence of binocular vision is essential in increasing the quality of life and in both intellectual and in personal development. The social and psychological reasons are not the only advantages related to a normal functioning of binocular vision. The view itself is greatly enhanced in the presence of normal cooperation between the eyeballs. Studies have shown that there is a strong reason why eyeballs are paired organs and even though they might function well separately, the most impressive performances are obtained for simultaneous use of both eyes. Of all these, the most important aspect of the existance of binocular vision remains our three-dimensional view capacity. Spacial localization of high precision still consist the essence of binocular vision. Depth assessment in monocular vision is much diminished and the appreciation of distances and object´s size is obviously affected. This paper presents one optometric techniques which can be easily applied at preschool children.
