Abstract :
Printed Circuit Board (PCB) embedment is a rapidly developing packaging technology, with a number of benefits on power circuit implementation cost and circuit performance. Indeed, such a solution can deliver highly contained parasitic effects, higher power density, higher switching frequency operation and overall improved performance. This paper presents the design and development of a flyback converter using 650V GaN (Gallium-Nitride) devices for 30W high performance portable applications. Then, an innovative integration and packaging concept is put forward, based on finite element modelling and analysis.
